Question by gospelpin1: Should my daughter hire a lawyer to file for divorce and child custody, or can she do it herself. He’s cheatin
Husband is cheating with a co-worker, but threatens to take their son over the state lines, if she leaves him. Basically using her to pay his way through school. She wants to file for legal separation papers and divorce papers along with custody papers, but does not have the money to do so. Not even enough money to move out on her own. She and her son will have to move in with a girlfriend or her family. How can this be done cheaply, but right?

ALWAYS hire a lawyer. They know a lot more about the legal system and law than your daugher would. No lawyers are never cheap! She will have to pay.

    PostHeaderIcon Can my daughter stay on their step-father’s medical insurance after a divorce in Washington state?

    Question by Stephie: Can my daughter stay on their step-father’s medical insurance after a divorce in Washington state?
    I heard from a friend that there is a Washington state law that allows step-children to stay on their step-parent’s medical insurance after a divorce. This would be very helpful in my situation. I am going through a divorce and have a daughter from a previous relationship and it would be really helpful if she didn’t lose his medical insurance after the divorce is finalized. Has anyone else heard of this?

        If your ex gets custody you will have to pay child support and you will probably have the normal visitation of every other weekend.

          PostHeaderIcon does the mother have to get legal full custody of daughter to recieve more child support?

          Question by squirt: does the mother have to get legal full custody of daughter to recieve more child support?
          my step daughter has decided to stay with her mother and just come visit her dad every other weekend. now the mother is seeking more child support claiming she has her full time so should recieve more child support than what she is already getting. The divorce papers legaly have both partents with 50/50 custody of both their children. can she recieve more money just because daughter wants to stay there? or does the mother have to get full legal custody of her in order to recieve more child support.
          we meet with our lawyer on Wednesday.

          She would have to have full legal custody to get an increase on child support regardless where the child wants to be.{}
